“Do You See Dead People All the Time?”

Test-3_sm_t“How did you know you were psychic?”  I get asked that a lot, and I always think it’s kind of funny, because isn’t it a self-answering question?  But the truth is that I actually did not know I was psychic for a long time.  I did, but I didn’t.  Let me explain.

I don’t see dead people all the time.  But, if I pay attention, I can feel spirits around me most of the time.  You see, I spent most of my life ignoring my gifts.  When I was a child, and I told my mom that I felt like I was being watched, that I had a feeling that other, unseen people were in my room, she praised my “wonderful imagination.”

I’m glad she treated it that way, instead of condemning it, but it never occurred to me that I was gifted in any way.  I grew up believing that all creative people felt “unseens” around them, and frequently had pictures of unfamiliar faces pop into their heads.  It wasn’t until I was in my early 40’s that I figured out what that was!

I also had spontaneous out-of-body experiences starting when I was in my early teens.  It wasn’t until I read that famous medium John Edward had the same experience that I understood it foretold my gifts as a psychic.

I’ve had some very bold premonitions, like those of my husband’s death and September 11, but, except when I am doing readings, most of my days are probably a lot like most of yours.  Maybe I’m more accustomed to receiving “messages from the Cosmos,” but it doesn’t mean you aren’t getting them aimed at your head too!

If I pay attention, I can tune into almost anything I want.  I’ve learned to “home in” or “tune the radio” and pick up the signals.  I can look at a stranger–or think about one–and I’ll “see” his/her energy, any health problems in the body, past and future events, and/or spirits of his/her late loved ones.

This is how I work over the phone–I just tune into the person I am reading for.  If you ever see me working live, you’ll notice me looking at the floor or a blank wall.  This is so I can better “see” what’s in my mind’s eye without the distractions of faces and pictures.

I do almost always feel energies around me.  Especially over my right shoulder.  This is a guide or a group of energies that follow and steer me.  And it’s quite comfortable for me to have that feeling.

Did I answer the self-answering question?  What else do you want to know about walking around every day in the Psychic’s Pshoes?

Are You Psychic?

psychic%201(Originally published April 30, 2009)

I recently had a conversation with a woman named Janie who wondered if she is psychic. She told me that she often knows who is calling her phone before she answers it, believes she can tell what her dog is thinking, and finds that she is intuitive about numerous other things. Most people wonder at one time or another if there is something more to their “I knew who was calling” thing than meets the Third Eye.

There is good reason to wonder if we might posses a little bit of that sixth sense because–surprise!–we all do. We all have some intuitive ability. It is a built-in part of our psyche that works with our logic and our base instincts to help us figure out what’s what. Unfortunately, the intuition has been lost in a logical and practical world. We are taught to use logic and critical thinking in school, but if we cannot explain where we got an answer, well…we must be cheating!

Intuition has gotten away from our understanding, but like the appendix and the tailbone, it’s still there, whether you know what it’s for or not! Albert Einstein once said, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

Well-spake, Dr. Einstein!

But enough of my dismay with the current state of our collective understanding. The question remains, “Are you psychic?” And the simple answer is, “Yes!”

That doesn’t necessarily mean that Janie (or you) should hang out a neon hand and set up shop as a palm reader, but it does mean that people know much more than they think they know. We all have energetic access to all the information ever known or thought. Wow!

If you are interested in developing your natural intuitive abilities, first, forget the notion that something which catches your attention is only your imagination. When I was a little girl and told my mom that I felt like someone was watching me and that it felt like people were around me, she told me I had a wonderful imagination. While I am grateful she did not condemn me for it, it took me decades to figure out that there were spirits communicating with me from the Other Side!  Try thinking that if something means something TO YOU, then it MEANS something to you.  Got it?

Once you grasp this concept, take notice when your hunches are right. If you knew who was calling on the phone before you answered, pat yourself on the back and say, “Wow, I really DO have intuition!”  Paying attention to these occurrences will increase their frequency in your awareness. Keep it up!

We are given both gifts of intuition and intellect, and we are at our best when we use them both. Try it–you just might discover that you are psychic after all!

If you are so inclined, feel free to post in the comments your experience with your intuition.

Why Did I Attract THIS?

[originally published October 19, 2007–and still completely relevant]

WHY DID I ATTRACT THIS…

That’s the question we all need to ask all the time.

Many people have seen “The Secret” (and if you haven’t seen it, please go to http://www.thesecret.tv/ and watch it) and have been studying the Law of Attraction, so they’re starting to be conversant in some of those principles.

In my practice as a psychic medium and medical intuitive, I am starting to notice that my clients don’t get the whole picture of just what this attraction thing is.

Simply stated, the Law of Attraction is a law of physics that applies to your life in that what you put your attention on, you attract to you. Most people look at this law like “How can I attract more money/love/etc.?”

And that is great. That is the best use of the Law of Attraction and if you are consistently attracting things, people, relationships, and experiences that please you, I congratulate you! That is fantastic!

Unfortunately, that is not the case for about 98% of us out there. Most of us continue to attract at least a few things that we’re not too crazy about and here’s the kicker: nobody knows they’re doing it.

Just this past week, I have talked to three clients who were actually offended when I suggested that they had attracted experiences into their life that they didn’t like. “Why would I attract THAT?” they demanded. “I don’t want THAT, it’s BAD.”

Right, I get that. I understand that you don’t consciously want car trouble, health problems, bad grades, bad breath, or whatever. Who would?

And that’s exactly why you need to ask, “Why did I attract THIS?” Anything that gets your attention for better or worse, ask the question.

Here’s a dire example. Many people know that my husband died several years ago and left me with two small children to raise and very little life insurance. Why did I attract THAT?

Why indeed. I may never know all the reasons, but I know there are some, probably many, and some of them I do understand. And with some of those larger things (and maybe the small things too), your spirit got together with other spirits to plan some of the important events you wanted in your life as a human.

This is why we sometimes have trouble understanding—we don’t communicate with our own spirits very well. I work to bridge that gap for my clients, helping them communicate with Spirit and understand why they’re here—even when they’re attracting things they don’t like.

Food for thought, eh?

Create, Believe, Create, Believe

Oy!  It can be confusing sometimes, just living in this human life, day after day.  And you may have noticed that I have been talking about beliefs lately…  See this post and/or this one.

And if you listened in on the little audio about wealth I did recently, you may have heard me talking about beliefs there too.  In meditation, my angels revealed this to me:

You create what you believe, and you believe what you create.

Simple?  Yes.  Easy?  No way.

Let’s take a closer look at this.  You know that you are creating all the time, right?  That everything in your life, every feeling, every person and relationship, every material thing, every experience–you’ve created and attracted and allowed all of it.  Right?  Okay.

And you further know that you can change everything in your life by choosing to change it and thinking about it.  (For more info on Law of Attraction, refer to www.Abraham-Hicks.com and get a BEST Psychic Reading with me.)

So what this deal is saying is that (a) you create what you believe–okay, so you’re sitting there, wallowing in beliefs like “I’m not good enough” or “I can’t make more money” or “I’m fat” or whatever negative thing you’re thinking.  And you create that.  You have created that thing you don’t like and don’t want.

However, before you do anything else, you automatically accept what you see and experience as reality.  So (b) you believe what you create.  Looking at what you now have, you say, “This is real, this is reality, this is what I have.  I believe it.”

And then you create what you believe.

Yeah, a vicious cycle indeed.

What can you do about it?  Try not believing what you think is real.  Try not believing at all.  Try believing something that you can’t see or feel right now.

And when you’ve got it licked, let me know!

What It’s Like from My Side of a Reading in Writing

Have you heard about my Reading in Writing service yet?  It’s an inexpensive ($99), written version of my BEST Psychic Readings, and it is turning out to be something pretty amazing.  Not just for my clients, but for me too.

Here’s what happens:  The client sends me as many as four questions by email.  I take out one of my note sheets that I use for BEST Psychic Readings, and I start there.  I put the pertinent color for that person, I write down any spirit communication I receive, and in the open-note area, I write whatever information comes to me, including drawing the person’s aura or other symbols or images, along with interpretation.  Finally, I throw a few angel cards and write them with a brief interpretation too.  Then, I scan that in and attach it to the reply email.  At that point, I look at the client’s questions and answer them one at a time.

There may be changes to this format, depending on feedback and my own inspiration, but this is essentially how it works.

And what’s amazing to me is, not only am I getting terrific feedback from clients, but I also have a wonderful experience with each one!  It’s as if I’m walking right by the client, with full access to her whole life!  In the most recent R in W I did, I answered at least part of all the client’s four questions in my hand-written part, before I even saw them!

Not long ago, I asked my angels to give me some of that super-excited and amazed feeling I used to get when I first started giving readings.  After many of those early readings, I would sit on the couch absolutely agog, incredulous that I was able to do what I had just done.  These days, I’m not exactly jaded, but I am used to getting pretty impressive results from readings, and so I don’t feel that super-charged inspiration as much.  But with the Reading in Writing, I’m getting that wonderful feeling again!

The recipient gets to respond to the reading with any questions needed for clarification, and so far, I am not getting a lot of questions, but the feedback is excellent.  All the clients have said it’s exactly what they needed, that they’re inspired, that they’ll be back for more!

All in all, it’s a pretty exciting time around my little atelier.  Want to try it out?  I’m ready for more inspiration!

P.S.  If you’re wondering how I can give a reading to someone I’ve never met, who isn’t even on the phone with me, stay tuned for the next blog post.

“How Can You Read for Someone Who Is Far Away?”

question markThis isn’t the first time I’ve gotten a question like this:  “How does your Reading in Writing work?  How can you read my aura via the email?”

Variations on this question include, how can I read for you over the phone or how can I tell you about someone else in your life if I’ve never met them?

Here’s what I answered this time:

“You know, it’s amazing to me too, but it’s actually almost better for me to read for you without being with you.  Everything is energy, so I just focus my energy on yours and the information comes in.  Sometimes, when I am giving a BEST Psychic Reading by phone, I will close my eyes while the client is saying something and I get much more information when I am not talking or looking at anything!

“If you wanted me to hold something, such as your watch or keys or wedding ring (a process called chiromancy), obviously, we would have to be in the same room—or at least I would have to have that object.  And I can do that; I’ve found I can ‘read’ almost anything, regular playing cards, tea leaves, whatever you put in front of me.  Because the information is not in the object and not in the person—it’s all around us, and I just have to focus on your energy.

“Even if we were face-to-face, I would probably close my eyes for at least part of the reading.  If you see me at a Suzi-Q & A LIVE, you’ll see that I often look down or close my eyes, so that I can ‘see’ what’s in my mind’s eye.”

I hope that helps you to understand how my gifts work for you.  And if you want to know more, you know where to find me!  (And yes, this client did get a reading.)
