Shortly after my client had her reading with me, she sent me this email:
“I woke up this morning way before I had to get up and was terrified—somebody was in my bed “spooning” me!
“At first, I thought I had a night mare or that it just felt like it. When I was completely awake, I still felt the person holding me and felt the warm body pressed against me. I was scared to move or breathe.
“I could not figure out why my burglar alarm did not go off. And why would somebody break in to spoon me?
“I was scared what would happen if the person woke up, but I finally decided to move just a little bit. As soon as I got away from that person, the person disappeared.
“I have never had an experience like this before. Did one of my helpers from the other side cross my boundaries? I hope that never happens again.”
And here is my response:
Wow, that IS creepy!
I’m sorry you’ve had this happen. I’ll tell you a couple of things that I hope will help.
Of course, when you thought it was a living person, that was more scary than thinking a “ghost” or spirit was there. And I’m so glad you’re safe and it wasn’t a living person.
Now. The next thing you need to know is that there is nothing in the non-physical that can hurt you in the physical. In other words, a “ghost” or spirit can’t choke you or hit you over the head with something.
So. I suggest you do this: Sit or lie on your bed and address this entity. It was probably someone you knew who has passed away, a boyfriend or husband, or it could have been an earth-bound spirit or “ghost” who thought you were someone he knew. Either way, you address this being thus:
“Hello. This morning when you lay behind me, you really frightened me. I’m sure you didn’t mean me any harm, but I was very afraid. Will you please not frighten me anymore?”
You may want to add something like, “If you need my help, please let me know in some way that I can understand and I will help you if I can. Otherwise, please leave me alone.”
Speak lovingly. I’ve told people for years to speak to it in love and it will transform or go away.
If it ever happens again, say, “There is only love here. God loves you. Please do not visit me again.”
I hope this helps. Please do let me know if anything further happens and I will do my best to help you. I can also refer you to someone to do a clearing of your house, if you need that.
I want to talk about HEAVEN. I always used to prefer the term “the Other Side”, because “Heaven” seemed like such a “churchy” word, and one that evoked equivalent possibilities of hell, purgatory, failure, and other unpleasant ideas.
I also thought that streets paved with gold, as described in the Bible, seemed a bit silly, just because I don’t care about golden streets in this life and presumably won’t in the next. I mean, unless you can pull up the golden cobbles and trade them for food and lodging, what good are they? Also, when the sun is shining, which is presumably at all times in this church Heaven, aren’t gold streets blinding?
(But I digress.)
Now. I have talked to a LOT of people who are on “the Other Side”. I mean, hundreds–nay, thousands of people who have passed from this life. And many of them have given me the thought, “Heaven is exactly what I hoped it would be.” And they’ve shown me what they hoped for and what their “Heaven” is like.
(One gentleman told me he was surprised by Heaven, because it wasn’t churchy, as he expected. He took the “house of many mansions” and “streets paved with gold” stuff literally, and half-expected to be praying and singing hymns for all eternity–imagine his pleasant surprise when it turned out to be more like what he would have enjoyed in life, but better! No feelings of regret, sorrow, anger, or other negatives. And with the opportunity to help his loved ones! But I’m getting ahead of myself. Read on.)
They’ve also shown and told and described for me what they do for their living loved ones from their Heaven. While I have eschewed the concept of a late loved one becoming your guardian angel, those on the Other Side do actually seem to be helping the rest of us here in life. Maybe “guardian angel” isn’t the exact thing they are, but they are helping you. Yes, your late mother or grandmother or uncle really is joining your angels and guides to help you and yes, you really can call on them and/or “pray” to them. And isn’t that the idea of Heaven, even in the church’s sense?
Please comment below with your ideas about Heaven.
This “Revelation” may not make me very popular with some people. But I feel it’s important to share. So here goes.
I talk to lots of dead people.
Lots and lots.
Into the thousands now, after well over ten years in the business of being a psychic medium.
My clients want to know: Is my loved one all right? Is he mad at me? Is she sorry for what she did? Is he happy? What does she do in Heaven? What is Heaven really like? (Click here for a little info on that last question.)
First of all, I assure you, your RIP (loved one who has passed away) is definitely all right, okay, happy, fine and dandy, carefree, out of pain, and all around copacetic.
Some of the answers I get from RIPs are similar to the answers from others. For example, many heavenly folks tell me some variation of “Heaven was everything I hoped it would be.” Many answers vary widely, such as the former police officer, whose answer to his wife’s question about what he did in Heaven was, “You’re not going to like this–I ride motorcycles.” (I assured my client that, in spite of her not wanting him to do that in life, he was perfectly safe in doing so.)
One lady announced joyfully, “I get to teach like I always wanted to!” Some have indicated that they take classes. One of my best friends in Heaven went to “special ops” training (he was in the military in life), and usually appears to be helping other souls in Heaven do whatever they need to do, along with guiding some living people, myself included. One woman, whose son died young, showed me her son beside her in Heaven, and asked me, “Have you met my little boy?”
Many people seem to “hang out” with others who have passed, often just one person with whom they had a connection of some kind in life. I see many mother/daughter duos, as well as husband/wife, brother/sister, etc. Sometimes, they are in groups of three, but I seldom see large groups of souls hanging out. Still, I’m often told they “play bridge” or “play golf” or other activities that would seem to involve others, so I can’t tell you for sure about the size of groups.
One man told me that he was surprised that Heaven wasn’t “more churchy”. He apparently expected streets paved with gold and constant worship of God, which is not what he discovered. He wasn’t disappointed–on the contrary, he was delighted by Heaven–but he was surprised, because he had been a devout Christian all his life.
Which brings me to this shocking revelation. Are you ready for it?
No one in Heaven, not one RIP, has ever said one word to me about God, Jesus, Mother Mary, the Holy Spirit, Buddha, Muhammad, Moses, Abraham, saints, prophets, Roman gods, pagan gods, or any other entity associated with a religion. Ever.*
Now. You might argue that because I, Susan, am not religious, the RIPs wouldn’t mention it to me. But what if their living loved ones are religious? Many of my clients are. In fact, I would say a majority at least believe in God. Wouldn’t their RIPs use me as a medium to give them religious information? That’s what a medium does–passes on information. I don’t have anything to do with what the Heavenly Ones say to their living loved ones. And for those clients who are religious, don’t you think they would be comforted and awed by learning that their RIP was holding hands with Jesus or meeting with God every day?
Also, I was raised Christian (half Presbyterian, half Baptist, if you’re counting), and am very well-versed in Christianity and the Bible. Why not tell me about it?
As of this writing, a friend’s wife is dying of cancer. For weeks now, her Facebook page has been flooded with prayers and mentions of God, Jesus, “Our Lord and Heavenly Father”, etc. Of course. I would never discourage any of that. I know the people who posted these things are giving love to the dying woman in their very best and most loving words. And I know she appreciated it tremendously while she was still conscious, and probably now that she isn’t. Prayer is very powerful, whether there is a Jesus or not.
I also feel that religion has its place and that believers are perfectly right to believe. I have my own beliefs and hope that they are respected.
I have offered up prayers myself, as is my wont, although I don’t feel that I am praying to the “church God”, rather to the love and source energy of the universe. It’s an energy, not a being.
So what does this mean? Is there no God? No Jesus? No Moses?
I’ll refer you to this message I channeled some time ago, when a client asked who her angels and guides were. There was a mention of an archangel or saint, and this is germane:
“You mentioned that you think of the archangel because of being born on that celebration day. He is a human creation, although there is nothing wrong with the idea of him. His energy, as believed by human beings, exists, just not quite as people make him to be. He is not a person with wings! For example.”
And that is the answer I can offer as explanation – the energy of each entity exists, but that energy is not human. It is energetic in nature, and maybe it’s something we cannot yet fully understand.
Now. Comment away. What do you think? How do you feel?
*(There do seem to be helper spirits, that I call angels, but that is another topic for another day.)
I never talk about this. Actually, I rarely even think about it. I only do it every once in awhile, and I just did it and I thought, I want to do more of this!
It’s the Right Eye. If I look at a person’s right eye, I get a Big Truth about them.
For example, I looked at Johnny Depp’s right eye once, and I saw a certain sadness and a bit of little-boy fear. Maybe it’s because he was very close to his mother. That’s the feeling I get. I don’t know if you can see it, but I do.
Like I said, I just did it a few minutes ago, and I saw in that person’s right eye a kindness and curiosity.
These traits may not show up anywhere else. You might not think someone is insecure, or happy, or unhappy, or shy, or scared…. But there I see it in the Right Eye. It is especially interesting to me with actors, because they are facial chameleons and seldom wear their own true feelings.
This is not iridology, a pseudo-science of “reading” people in their irises. This is just the psychic “hit” I get by looking at the Right Eye.
Many people worry that their grandma or dad is unhappy or not safe in Heaven, or even that they went “someplace else”. As a long-time medium, of course, I can assure you that they are okay.

It is the age-old question. The one that has puzzled philosophers and Joe Blows since time immemorial:
Why are we here?
I was working on this recently, and by “working on”, I mean I was meditating, asking my A&G’s*, and feeling around psychically, as is my wont.
The first answer that came through was one you may have heard before: To make the world a better place.
I like that answer. In the past, I have been told that we are here to be happy, to find what we love to do and do it. I’ve also learned that we all have talents, and we are free to use those talents in service to others, thereby blessing ourselves and those whom we serve. I like those answers too.
But this idea of making the world a better place brought me to another question: Why? Why do we come here, into physical life, to make our physical world a better place?
And here’s what came through. It’s a doozie, so hang on to your hat: We are compelled to do so.
Yeah. It’s not even so much a compulsion as it is an instinct, an innate drive–innate to the body AND the soul! Wow.
You know how the survival instinct is so incredibly strong? How hunger drives you to eat? That, if you want to starve yourself for a hunger strike, it’s physically very difficult. Even someone who wants to kill himself has to override the body’s strong instinct to stay alive. Psychologists say it is almost impossible to commit suicide by drowning, because your body will fight instinctively to overcome the water. Even when a person dies of natural causes, the body will sometimes twitch or spasm as the soul tries to leave. That survival instinct is the most powerful that we are born with.
And the instinct or drive or compulsion to return to the physical from the non-physical–that heavenly place where all is joy and love?–is at least that strong. We HAVE to come back and try to make the world a better place. It’s biology. Not just spirit, which science has yet to fully define.
Before I received this information, I had come to believe, or even to feel that I KNOW, that a soul hangs out in Heaven and plans its next life. Among other things, of course, such as checking in on their loved ones and maybe fitting a round of golf or a game of bridge here and there. (That’s only partly a joke.) Some souls attend classes and meetings, while others seem to be hanging out and enjoying the newly-re-discovered peace and happiness that are Heaven.
In addition, some years ago, I channeled this message about what happens to people after death:
They are a different kind of energy [from physical] and do not stay with you constantly. Their energy melds with that of the Universe, or God, and returns to a collective stance. They then can check in on you and visit you, but they are doing other work. What is this work? They are finding out what their next life will be and deciding what they want to experience and who to take with them. It is like planning a corporation. The plans always come through. Nothing is ever wasted or done “wrong.”
And I have always found this helpful and inspiring. Then, my husband, who is also my CFO, CPA, Grand Vizier, and Muse, started asking, “Why are we here? Why do we keep coming back? Why wouldn’t we want to stay where there’s so much happiness and we get to be with our loved ones?”
You have probably wondered that yourself. And now, I have an answer. Is it THE answer? We can only speculate at this point. But I am going to act like it’s the Truth with a Big T, and I am going to keep trying to make the world a better place.
If that’s what most people–or even SOME people do–life after life, working to leave the world even a little better than they found it–then the world and all humanity will continue to evolve into a stronger, better, happier, more prosperous, healthier place. And we’re going to want that, since we have to keep coming back just like we have to eat!
*A&G’s = Angels & Guides. Of course. :o)
