More about Money

It keeps coming up again and again. Clients asking about money. Or complaining about money, or more accurately, the lack thereof.

As we discussed in part at the 2012 panel I served last weekend in Denver, everything is changing in our world, and that includes money and how we get it and use it. As just one pointed example, the 2008 stock market crash–that was just the beginning of a highly mercurial time in the market. I said BACK THEN that it was one of the old systems that were starting to break down–not to end prosperity, but to give way to new methods that will give most or all of the world greater prosperity. The stock market will still be around for those who want to work/play that way, but it will come to the point that it is no longer the main basis of the world economy.  (I also discussed how talking about recession will bring recession on, here.)

And as always, the less you resist coming changes, the easier it will be for you.

I’ve been working on editing the readings I’ve done on Phacebook Phenom the last six months, and I ran across this:

“Relief from financial straits will come sooner and easier if you work on YOU, spiritually, inside-out, working on learning what it’s really all about and how you create successfully.”

Of course, you and I do that all that time, right?  But maybe this will help.  Recently, I noticed what I had managed to do and realized that I was actually doing it!  I was actually meeting some of my short-term goals, and this was proof enough to convince myself that I WAS IN full-on receive mode.  Not long after, I got the message that it needs to be give-and-receive mode, because the two are equal parts of a whole.  And that had been coming to me before that as “reward”, like “You will be rewarded.”  And that’s what I am focusing on philosophically at the moment.

Also, I want to respond to what a client said about “the Universe was about to take care of us.”  Remember that what comes to you comes from you.  The Universe doesn’t care what you want or how you put it out there; it can only say “yes”.  So if you’re putting out there that you are not being taken care of, that’s what comes back to you.  Casting your bread upon the waters, as it were.  Start putting it out there (and lying to me, yourself and others, if you must) that you are fully provided for.

The thing about lying is that it’s very uncomfortable for me, and I’m bad at it.  I’m sure like you, I was raised to be truthful.  But according to Abraham, you should tell your story the way you want it to be, and screw the “facts”.  And that’s what I just said above, pretty much.

I know it’s hard not to be fearful in a difficult situation.  I have definitely born my share of fear!  And I still do!  And I’m the brilliant one!    But it is the most counter-productive thing you can do, to indulge fear.  (To consider creating with fear, see this blog post.)

You know what I always say, “The only devil is fear, and the only sin is neglecting your own happiness.”

What your favorite color says about you – Aqua

aquaWelcome back to my continuing series about the colors of energy. The first four paragraphs explain the process, then we’ll get to this post’s color.

You may know that I work a lot around the colors of energy. If you’ve had a reading from me, you know that I give you a “color snapshot” that tells you what color is primary in your life energy at the moment, and then I explain what that means. Similarly, I read auras (even though I don’t call them that) and I relate what I see in colors, shapes, and location around your physical body. This all helps me to interpret for you just what you need to know.

I understand and work with color so well that I decided to help you understand it better too. This is why I have written this series, What Your Favorite Color Says about You.

It’s as the title says; however, I realize that some people don’t have a favorite color, and some people have more than one. That’s okay. Here are some ways to determine what color or colors pertain most to you and your life:

  • If you have an actual favorite color, well, there you go.
  • If you have a secondary and tertiary favorite, those will pertain to you too.
  • Look in your closet: What color/s are most prominent in your wardrobe?
  • What color is your car? This is applicable even if you did not choose the color of your car, maybe even more so. I notice that people often wear the color/s that are present in their energy, and that their cars and other belongings tend to have them too.
  • If you really, really don’t have a favorite or un-favorite or a strong opinion, you’re a rainbow!

Each color has a “light” side and a “shadow” side, or positive and negative. (Note: This does NOT mean good and evil! Everything is useful and there is no devil! But that’s another story…) I’ll call them “bright” and “dark” because we describe colors that way. You may consider the “dark” version of the color to be your un-favorite, but either or both may apply to you. See how you identify with the following.

Note:  I had planned to do BLACK this time, after the last post on white; however, Aqua nudged me and wouldn’t leave me alone, so I am following my inspiration and going with AQUA!

This time, our color is aqua (or blue-green). If aqua is your favorite color or your un-favorite color (or otherwise present in your life; see above), here are the ideas and values you are concerned about:

Aqua overview:  Somewhere between self-acceptance (green) and self-expression (turquoise) lies aqua; money and finances; the ability to allow money into your life.

Bright aqua:  You are good at making money or at least good at having it in your life.  You don’t have to worry too much, because your material needs are generally met.  You may enjoy shopping as a creative activity, you might like to balance your checkbook or do other self-accounting work, and you probably have a good head for figures all the way around.

Dark aqua (or blue-green, aquamarine):  You can see this coming, can’t you?  It means you are likely to struggle to earn money or allow it into your life, you may have problems with debt, live paycheck to paycheck, always worrying about how to pay the next bill.  Or it may not be that bad, but you are not where you want to be financially.  You don’t necessarily have a head for numbers (although some on the dark side do!), and money can be baffling for you in general.  To head back to the bright side, meditate on aqua, surrounding yourself in aqua light, and study up on Law of Attraction.

Everything Old Is New Again: Looking Back Brings Insight and Inspiration

I hope your holidays were great!  Mine were!  And as I rang in the New Year, I started thinking about what I do, what I like to do, and what inspires me.  And what I came up with might just inspire you.

This might be sort of like what you do with each New Year, or maybe every month or something like that.  If not, I suggest you take a moment every now and again to review where you’ve been and think about where you’d like to go.  At the very least!

2010 was hellacious for me–as it probably was for you.  Most people I know, including clients, friends, and family, had a tough year.  And you may have read my posts about looking for the end of it to come soon.

So as 2010 wound down, I was certainly looking forward to something new, better, different, a time in my life when I can experience all the joyful things I think of.  And I thought about times in the past when I have been successful and comfortable–and experiencing all those joyful things!  I remembered my first business…

I woke up on a Monday morning in May, 1999, and had a very clear inspiration:  I would begin a business based on my former job.  To create this business, I sat down with my old job description and my “Directory of Facilities and Services” (I had been a facilities manger for a large corporation), and I wrote down a list of all the tasks therein that I enjoyed doing.  Anything I didn’t like to do was definitely not included.

This is how I developed my menu of services for my business.

Next, I made a list of everyone I could think of who worked or owned a business in Austin.  I started calling every person on that list, about 250, and telling them what I was doing.  I wasn’t making sales calls, just saying hello and what I was up to.  I asked them to keep me in mind if they knew of anyone who needed a service that was on my list.

Well, lo and behold, it wasn’t long before I talked to someone who knew someone.  Within days, I had my first contract!

As much as I loved that business, I have come a long way since 1999!  And my current business is very different from that one.  But I took a page from my old 1999 book, and I sat down this year and looked at my services.  I enjoy doing all of them, so I asked myself, what do I love to do the most?

I’ve known the answer for a long time:  sit around and chat.  I love to talk with people.  And I especially love to teach.  So what really inspires me is…you!  If I don’t have anyone to sit around and chat with, how can I serve in the way I was meant to serve?

Thus, I’d have to say that my favorite service is Suzi-Q&A (psychic readings), which I do in private readings by phone or Skype and  in person for groups.  I answer questions and/or give mini-readings and, along the way, I give insight into everyone’s life.

With all of this introspection, I came to this conclusion:  In 2011, I am concentrating on Suzi-Q&As and individual readings and coaching.  Oh, I will definitely continue to offer all my services, but I will focus mainly on answering questions–your questions.

Since I feel called to teach and share with others all that I know about the workings of the Universe, this seems to make the most sense.

So keep an eye on me, my emails (sign up here), and this blog.  You’ll definitely want to see what happens next!

Making Sense of that Tweet

twitterLike about half the people I know, I use Twitter. If you’re not aware, Twitter (.com) is a micro-blog site. Each entry is limited to only 140 characters. One of the cool things about it is that you can post links there–in this case, I’m going to post the link to my maxi-blog (this one). Convenient!

I want to explain a Tweet (posting on Twitter) that I posted a while back.  I said, “Love those repeated messages. Thanks to my messengers–I get it!”

I thought that might appear a bit esoteric, so here’s what I meant:

Everything starts with Spirit and your whole life is a presentation of messages that will point you in the best directions to live the life you came here to live. (And it’s beside the point, but nobody came into this life to be miserable. Remember my adage from my days as a wee mystic: If you’re not at least trying to be happy, you’re not doing it right.)

In other words, messages come to you in many and varied forms, including your thoughts and feelings, your body, the people around you, nature, things you read… Anything that catches your attention deserves scrutiny.

SO VERY OFTEN, I find that messages come in duplicate or triplicate. And I know that, just because I noticed something once or twice doesn’t mean that’s the only time I’ve received it. These messages are like roaches. For every one you see, there are hundreds of others that you missed.

Ew. Gross analogy. Anyway, not long ago, I heard the EXACT SAME THING from three different people. One person was my marketing assistant, who told me that she sometimes writes blog entries for her clients. (Not this one, it’s really me.) The next person is a friend, who is a successful copywriter, who told me she started subbing out some press releases. She has a junior copywriter write the first draft, and then she does her magic on it. Saves her a lot of time and effort. The third person showed up last.  She’s a life coach, and she mentioned her blog and how effective it is for her business. She said that she had tried a service that writes the blog for the blogger, then she would edit it to make it her own.

Do these three messages sound almost identical? This happens to me ALL THE TIME–and guess what. It happens to you all the time too! You’ve probably become somewhat immune to it. And that’s why I’m telling you this now. Start paying attention.

For my clients, when I talk about paying attention to the messages, I sometimes use an example about seeing and hearing frogs. Two frogs? You’d better listen up. Three frogs? Now you’ve got something really important.

So will my next blog post be ghost-written??? Well, I really like writing, so I don’t know, but it could happen. I got the message!

Until next time, y’all be good!  (5-12-10)

Entrepreneurs: The New Marketing

As far as I can tell, I’m the only one talking about this so far.  Naturally, I want to go on record as the first!

This is about marketing, so if you’re an entrepreneur (or thinking of becoming one), listen up!

First of all, recognize that we are in a period of the re-emergence of the divine feminine.  That link is to a video of the same name.  You might want to check it out!

This means that the whole planet is coming back into balance, after many centuries of being more than a little masculine-heavy.  Check out the video for examples.  For our purposes here, I’m talking about what this means to marketing.

Think about it–the way goods and services are sold today comes mostly from advertising and marketing standards that were established in the ’30s and ’40s by men to sell to men.  That means the techniques tell the potential customer to buy for reasons like this:  It will make you seem more powerful!  It will make your wife (or other women) want to have sex with you!  It will make you feel like a man!

Don’t believe me?  Look at car commercials.  They are the boldest example of the last vestiges of cave-man advertising.  (Sorry, guys–it’s probably insulting to you too!)

However, these days, about 80% of all purchasing decisions in the U.S. are made by women, including cars and men’s clothes.  If you are selling (marketing, offering, whatever) now, you are mostly selling to women.  And women don’t care if their husbands will sleep with them–of course they will!  Women have that deal taken care of.

So what do women care about?  Well, speaking as a woman myself, my favorite thing in the world is to sit around and chat.  And than means… anybody?  CONNECTING.

Women are all about connecting.  We like to FEEL something, we like to empathize and sympathize, and we like to hear stories about people like us–or people who are different from us.  And we like to help.

Why do charities that help children in foreign countries show pictures of the children and tell their stories?  “Ana never knew her mother.  Her father died of dysentery after serving most of Ana’s life in the defeated army.  Ana would like to go to school.  She dreams of someday becoming someone just like you.  Help her to do that.”

Why?  Because that’s what women respond to.

This is the New Marketing.  And this is why social media are so important to business owners right now.  Establish a personality on Facebook and Twitter.  Share your story and/or the stories of your clients.  You don’t have to pull on their heartstrings and manipulate them (like the charity example above–sorry for the cheese).  You just have to be honest.  Here’s an example:

“Here’s my client, Ana.  When we started working together, Ana had been in the same dead-end job for 10 years.  Her children were recently grown and had flown the coop.  Ana’s husband had lost his job, and Ana was starting to wonder what the rest of her life would be like.

“After only two months in the XYZ course, Ana discovered that she was more content, felt better physically, and found herself looking forward to work every day.  Another month later, and a great new job offer had landed in her lap.

“Today, Ana works in my company!  She left that great job, because she loved the work we had done together so much, she wanted to help other people the way she had been helped.  Now, she not only looks forward to work every day, she knows she is making a difference in other people’s lives.”

If you’re a woman, I know you can see how much better that is to you than, “Buy this!  It’ll make you irresistible to men!”

And if you’re a man, you might also see its value, but if not, just trust me.

There will be MUCH more about the New Marketing, but this is a great start.  Just remember to give me, your friend, the credit I deserve.  ;o)

Until next time, y’all be good!  (5-11-10)
