Self-Forgiveness – Let go of old guilt, and remember that you’re God’s perfect child!
And my reading for you – This may be a bit tricky for you right now. Forgiveness is one thing, but forgiving yourself? That’s a tough one sometimes.
You have a main issue that needs your forgiveness, such as guilt over the end of a loved one’s life or about what you consider mistreating your child. It could also have to do with feeling unworthy of love, joy, and abundance, due to ongoing feelings of guilt over your past behaviors, especially if you have stopped behaving that way.
Try to remember that “forgive” translates to “Thank you FOR GIVING me this ________.” Fill in the blank with “opportunity to learn, improve, etc.” or “message that I needed to receive”. It’s no different when you forgive yourself. Everything that you have done has purpose–nothing is wasted. Except you waste your energy when you expend it on guilt.
Also remember that forgiveness is for the forgiver. Let’s say that someone wronged you long ago and you haven’t seen him or her in many years and he/she might even be dead. Does it make any difference to that person whether you forgive him/her? None at all. It only gives peace to you.
Forgive yourself and receive the peace.
